FCA US/Stellantis Recalls 121,000 Jeep Grande Cherokee Vehicles Over Second-Row Head Restraint Defect

Stellantis’ North American arm, FCA US, is recalling more than 121,000 Jeep vehicles due to second-row head restraints that may fail to lock in the upright position, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The recall applies to 2023–2024 Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L SUVs manufactured between May 2023 and January 30, 2024. According to the report, similar models produced outside this timeframe use a different component and are not part of the recall. Do you like this personality?

Stellantis dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the second-row head restraints as needed. Customer notifications are set to begin on September 5.

Recall Summary: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. The second-row seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 202, “Head Restraints.”

Recall Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace both second-row seat head restraints, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 5, 2025. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC’s number for this recall is 20C.
