More than 300,000 Ford vehicles are being recalled after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identified a defect that could increase crash risk.
The recall notice submitted to NHTSA on July 25 stated that approximately 312,120 vehicles could be affected by a defect warning of a possible “loss of power brake assist,” which may “increase stopping distance.” The agency added that the Electric Brake Booster (EBB) could fail either during normal driving or while the Advanced Driver Assistance System is in use.
Ford will provide a free software update to the EBB module, available either through an over-the-air (OTA) update or at a dealership. Owner notification letters were sent on August 22, 2025.
