Chrysler is recalling over 250,000 Pacifica and Voyager minivans from model years 2022 to 2025 due to a potential side curtain airbag defect.
According to the May 9 announcement by NHTSA, improperly sealed seams may cause the airbags to lose pressure, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. The issue also means the airbags may not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 226, “Ejection Mitigation,” which requires sufficient pressure retention to help protect occupants.
Chrysler plans to send interim notification letters to owners by June 30, 2025, followed by a second notice when a permanent fix is ready.
